What Happened to Rico Wade?
Rico Wade, a big part of Atlanta's famous hip-hop style known as "dirty south," has passed away at 52. He helped make albums for OutKast, Goodie Mob, and CeeLo Green, and he co-wrote TLC's hit song "Waterfalls." Atlanta's mayor, Andre Dickens, praised Wade for creating a hip-hop sound that's lasted for years. He said Wade's impact on music and culture is huge, especially in the South.
Wade was part of the group Organized Noize and the Dungeon Family. They played a big role in making OutKast's first albums and Goodie Mob's "Soul Food." These albums had a different, grittier sound that became really popular. They also made TLC's "Waterfalls," which got nominated for a Grammy, and En Vogue's "Don't Let Go."
Organized Noize and the Dungeon Family said they lost a great friend and music pioneer. Killer Mike, who's part of the Dungeon Family, expressed his sadness on Instagram, saying Wade was a huge part of his journey in music. Lots of other rappers and even the former Atlanta mayor shared their tributes online.
Wade was also rapper Future's cousin, and Future credits him with launching his career. He said Wade's support meant everything to him and taught him everything he knows about music.
Who was Rico Wade?
Rico Wade, who hails from East Point, Georgia, is a songwriter and music maker from America. He's one-third of a team called Organized Noize, based in Atlanta, that's really good at making music. They've made songs for famous artists like OutKast, Goodie Mob, and TLC.
One of their big hits, "Waterfalls" by TLC, was actually written by Wade and his pals Sleepy Brown and Ray Murray. Wade, along with his buddies Ray Murray and Sleepy Brown, started Organized Noize back in the ‘90s. They made a bunch of songs for Outkast, TLC, Goodie Mob, and more.
People often talked about them or put them in their songs. Their music, which mixed old-school R&B with hip-hop, helped shape the music scene in Atlanta back then. Together with rapper Jermaine Dupri, they made Atlanta a big deal in the world of hip-hop, setting the stage for its future success.

This is a part of the journey. You told me "It ain't been hard throughout the journey, it's been a Journey". The journey ain't gonna be the Same Journey without U. Like U say tho Umma "Stay Down on it"......we all are.
