Monkey Man Ending Explained

Note: Spoiler Alert! (This article contains spoilers for Monkey Man)

At the end of the story, Kid charges into the club with determination and strength. He fights his way through the different areas of the club, with the help of temple warriors who join him. Finally, he reaches the VIP section where Rana is. Despite being hurt, Kid manages to defeat Rana and then sets his sights on Baba Shakti.

In the penthouse of the club, Kid confronts Baba Shakti. Even when Baba Shakti tries to negotiate, Kid refuses to back down. Baba Shakti reveals a hidden blade and stabs Kid, but Kid fights back, eventually killing Baba Shakti. As the movie ends, Kid realizes he's avenged his mother and can find peace.

But it's hinted that Kid dies from his injuries. However, his fight against corruption isn't over. Baba Shakti's allies are still around, so Kid's friends will need to find their own strength to continue the fight. Thankfully, they have Kid's example to guide them.

The Legend of Hanuman and The End of Monkey Man: Comparison

Monkey Man is a lot like Hanuman, a cool god who's part human, part monkey, and helps Prince Rama rescue his wife Sita. But in the story, Hanuman messes up big time trying to grab the sun from the sky, thinking it was something else. Then, bam! Indra, another god, smacks him down and breaks his jaw. But Hanuman gets a second chance thanks to Shiva, after his dad Vayu, who controls the air, kinda leaves the scene.

Just like this dude Kid, who nearly bit the dust after his first brawl, but got saved by the hijra, a group of transgender folks. So, maybe they, along with Sita, will bring him back after his fight with Baba Shakti. Hanuman faced all sorts of problems but never really croaked for good.

The same goes for Dev Patel's character. He's been through a lot, but he's got this inner strength and support from his peeps that keeps him going strong. So, fingers crossed that like Hanuman, Kid's story isn't over yet. Maybe his punishment wasn't the end game after all.

The End of Monkey Man Portrays A Sequel

Monkey Man ends in a bit of a mystery. The kid is really hurt, and it's possible he could've kicked the bucket from that stab wound. But there's also a chance he might bounce back. Since we're not totally sure if Kid is really gone, maybe he'll pull through and get stronger to take on more big shots who've been messing with folks.

If there's a Monkey Man part two, they'd have to figure out how Kid can move around without getting caught, since his face was all over the news after bumping off Baba Shakti. Killing a bigwig like that puts him at the top of everyone's wanted list in India. So, a sequel could show what Kid's life is like if he's hiding out or on the run.

Before, he was flying under the radar, but if Kid goes after another powerful person, even if it's not just for payback, he'll have to find new ways to sneak into the elite world. Just thinking about a Monkey Man sequel is intriguing, especially with Kid's new situation and his next big mission.
