Mikko Rantanen Injury Update, What Happened to Mikko Rantanen?

Mikko Rantanen's Injury Update

Mikko Rantanen of the Colorado Avalanche is currently undergoing concussion protocol and will not participate in the team's game against the Dallas Stars. His 161-game winning streak, which was the longest on the squad, comes to an end now.

For the Avalanche, who are trailing the Stars in the division race, Rantanen's absence has made it difficult for them. This season, he has 62 assists and 40 goals.

Rantanen was hurt by a hit from Mattias Ekholm during the Oilers game. Jared Bednar, the coach, says it's difficult to replace a player like Mikko but hopes he gets well soon.

Miles Wood, another player for the Avalanche, is sidelined due to a lower-body health problem. They have lately strengthened their squad to deal with similar circumstances when playing elite teams.

Cause of the injury

In the second period of Friday's game in Edmonton, Mikko Rantanen sustained an injury. While Rantanen was attempting to assist his club, the Avalanche, in getting out of their defensive zone, an Oilers defenceman named Matthias Ekholm gave him a strong hit along the boards near the blue line.

Unexpectedly, Rantanen took a hit while concentrating on helping his team's defense play. Rantanen was hurt during the game as a result of a hard contact from Ekholm that occurred next to where the Avalanche was attempting to push the puck.
